What's in Your Bathroom Mirror?
Bathroom mirrors are an essential part of the modern bathroom. They are for the most part a functional item and plenty of light and clear vision is important. Mirrors can have special features to make them more useful, features such as lights, magnification, and heat or be movable. There are three main type of bathroom mirrors to consider - the bathroom mirror cabinets, the illuminated mirror and the vanity mirror.
Bathroom Mirror Cabinet
This style of mirror allows you to hide toiletries and other bathroom clutter safely behind a door. The mirror is on the front of the cupboard. The cabinet can be recessed into the wall so that it appears that there is just a mirror. You can find illuminate bathroom cabinets. Usually these types of mirrors would be frame less although it is possible to find those with etched or sandblasted designs on the glass.
Illuminated Bathroom Mirror
Illuminated bathroom wall mirror are great for providing a good light for shaving or applying makeup. The light is just in the right place for close work. Mirrors with lights fall into a two kinds- those with lights around the edge and those with lights under the mirror. Back lit mirrors with the lights mounted below the surface of the mirror give a soft focus. Lights around the edge of a mirror provide a stronger light. The kind of light can also vary depending upon the type of lights you use. Choices include incandescent lights, fluorescent lights and LED lights. Incandescent lights would be traditional mounted around the mirror. Fluorescent lights provide a cooler and brighter light, but some can cast a green tinge on the mirror. LED lights are the modern lighting of choice. The lights are bright, low power, lightweight and very long lasting.
Bathroom Vanity Mirror
This is the traditional mirror for a bathroom where the mirror is hung over the vanity unit or sink for you to see clearly whilst grooming. The vanity mirror can be any style from a frame less design or one to match the vanity unit. Frame less mirrors can suit a bathroom where a clear uncluttered look is desired.
Other options for bathroom mirrors include having a tilt mechanism on the mirror to allow ease of positioning to see all the detail you need to. Heated bathroom mirrors can be very useful when you suffer from that steamed up problem after a shower, these work rather like the demister on the car window.
